Description
A smaller relative of H. ovalis, Halophila minor is often found in deeper waters or areas with reduced light availability.
Morphology
Small oval leaves 0.5–1.5 cm long with fewer cross veins than H. ovalis.
Habitat
Subtidal areas, often in turbid or deeper waters.
Distribution
Indo-Pacific.
Ecological Role
Deepwater seagrass habitat; food for marine herbivores.
