Description
Similar to H. uninervis but with blunter leaf tips, Halodule pinifolia is commonly found in intertidal areas and shallow subtidal flats around Suyac Island.
Morphology
Very narrow leaves 0.4โ1.5 mm wide with blunt tips. Leaves 3โ10 cm long.
Habitat
Intertidal and shallow subtidal sandy flats.
Distribution
Indo-Pacific region.
Ecological Role
Pioneer species; food resource for marine herbivores.
